The peaceful settlement of Imerovigli is considered one of the world's prime vacation spots, mainly due to its incomparable view of Santorini's famous Caldera and the golden sun setting into the Aegean Sea.
Imerovigli though, is also a "protected" settlement and has many other lovely characteristics such as its quaint Cycladic houses carved into the village's rocky cliff, narrow cobblestone streets and the view of the Venetian castle "Skaros". It is located on the western side of Santorini, high above sea level. Opposite Imerovigli are the three volcanic isles of Thirasia, Palea Kammeni and Nea Kammeni.
